North Carolina General Statutes require annual reports to wastewater system customers by "the owner or operator of any wastewater collection or treatment works, the operation of which is primarily to collect or treat municipal or domestic wastewater and for which a permit is issued under this Part and having an average annual flow greater than 200,000 gallons per day."
This annual report summarizes the performance of the collection system and the extent to which the collection system or treatment works has violated the permit or federal or State laws, regulations, or rules related to the protection of water quality. As this report indicates we are committed to protecting our most valuable resources, water, and people.
The Town of Rutherfordton owns one Wastewater Treatment Facilities and an associated Collection System. The Wastewater Facility are staffed with State Certified Operators. These Facilities and the Collection System were designed and constructed to properly transport wastewater and then treat the wastewater to meet stringent discharge requirements. The effluent discharge from our Facility is disinfected prior to entering the receiving streams. As this report indicates we are committed to protecting our most valuable resources, water, and people.2016 Annual Wastewater System Performance Report
