As devastation has wreaked havoc on our Town and surrounding community, we are extremely disappointed to announce the cancellation of this year’s Hilltop Fall Festival. This decision was not made lightly. Our Town staff, partners, and downtown businesses have been working overtime to ensure the health and safety of our community. Our staff alone has worked around the clock and spent nights away from their homes and families to make sure that the community is taken care of; which is a job we will gladly do time and time again.
All events associated with the Hilltop Fall Festival have also been cancelled, including Rutherford Outdoor Coalition’s Tour de Pumpkin Bike Ride, New Blood Championship Wrestling shows, and all other bands and live events.
As we are still heartbroken over the destruction within our county, the Town of Rutherfordton is allowing vendors to receive a refund of their registration fee or donate the refund amount to aid in the recovery of Chimney Rock. All vendors will soon receive important information regarding registration refunds and decisions are due by Friday, October 4th at 5 p.m.
While we understand that nothing can quite replace the Hilltop Fall Festival, the Town would like to inform everyone about upcoming community events:
Friday, October 18th: Make-up Movies in the Park showing “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” in Kiwanis Park. This movie night will also feature a Pajama Contest and Costume Contest. Be sure to dress up!
Saturday, October 19th: Norris Public Library will be hosting a Pumpkin Painting Party! More information to come.
