Doug Barrick

Doug Barrick, has over 15 years of experience in local government management and has served the Town of Rutherfordton Town Manager since October 2014. He previously served as Town Manager for the City of Claremont from 2010 to 2014 and as Project Manager in Cornelius, NC from 2005 to 2010. Doug graduated from Appalachian State University in 2003 with a B.S. in Community and Regional Planning and a B.S. in Geography. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration is also from Appalachian State University. Doug has also completed the UNC School of Government’s Effective Management Course & the Public Executive Leadership Academy.

Doug grew up in the Lincoln County area and calls Western North Carolina home. He has three wonderful girls, Ashlynn, Caleigh & Emory. Doug enjoys the outdoors, hiking with his girls, watching sports, listing to music of all genres, exploring locally owned businesses, and spending time with family and friends. He serves on many local boards and committees and is committed to making Rutherfordton a wonderful place to live, work & play for everyone.
